Jessica Seachrist

Masters of Arts, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Since starting my journey to be a counselor, I have worked to help others find the strength and empowerment in their lives. After receiving my Bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University, I worked in community mental health with children and their families. Since obtaining my Master’s degree from Marywood University, I have gained experience in drug and alcohol treatment. I have held certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a License as a Professional Counselor (LPC).

As I continue to grow in my experiences as a counselor, I also promote client growth in their own lives. Areas I have helped clients with include anxiety, depression, relationships, self-acceptance and life transitions. My continued training will allow focus w/eating disorders and trauma as well. I work with a range of clients from individual, couples, and family counseling. The population I serve mostly consists of adolescents (14+) and young adults. I also work with adults of any age.

I utilize a variant of therapeutic approaches based on the needs of the individual or couple/family. Most important is the humanistic approach with creates a safe accepting and genuine environment. Also used are psychodynamic and emotion focused therapy strategies. This helps to heal our past that directs our unconscious behavior. Cognitive behavioral approaches are also important in processing patterns of thinking/behavior that no longer serves us well.

A client’s comfort and needs are most important in my work with others. I serve as a guide to healing on your own journey to happiness and health.
